Behavior Support

________________________________________________________________________________

We are no longer providing counseling or any other services, and we have begun the process of closing our business. We have been honored to partner with families and agencies throughout the Puget Sound region since 2011, and we are thankful for having had so many opportunities to support our community.

For referral assistance you may contact us by phone or email at 425-820-4717 or info@frameworksctr.com, and we will do our best to assist you with finding resources to support your situation.

Caring for an individual with challenging behaviors can be stressful and overwhelming. Daily activities from brushing teeth to going to the grocery store can feel like a battle. There can also be a sense of isolation when behaviors impact access to the community and to relationships with others. Behavior support services are aimed at understanding the underlying skills or needs that are contributing to challenging behaviors. This hands-on approach of problem solving and skill building allows us to target specific concerns within the context that they are occurring.

Our clients often experience difficulties with:

  • Social interactions
  • Engagement in school or work
  • Emotion regulation
  • Functional communication
  • Independent/life skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Sensory integration
  • Problem solving skills

These difficulties manifest themselves in a variety of behaviors and levels of intensity and may include: yelling, throwing, hitting, refusal, withdrawal, running, avoidance, and property destruction. A few examples of areas we have worked on with clients include: riding the bus, attending school daily, going to doctor appointments, navigating community experiences, participating and engaging in school or work activities, working through their anxiety in order to leave their room or home, being responsible for their belongings and organizing their spaces, developing strategies to communicate needs and concerns, improving social interactions, and identifying and implementing emotion regulation strategies.

We work one on one with clients in their homes, schools, and/or community settings.  Our process enables us to determine the client’s strengths and to identify missing skills and resources. We strive to work collaboratively with team members to develop creative solutions that are a match for a client’s specific needs. Key components of our behavior support program include development and implementation of functional behavioral assessments and positive behavior support plans; as well as, parent and caregiver coaching.
